The 1 fact of Messrs Dalgety and Co. opening operations the same day had the effect of drawing the public, outside buyers being promiuent, Wairarapa, Manawatu, and Dannevirke being strongly represented. The quality of the sheep was above the average, and competition under the hammer was good, at times animated, resulting in a "clean elate," hoggets and breeding ewes being most in domaod.
