PAHIATUA STOCK SALE. Messrs Ualgety and Co., Ltd., held their opening sale at the new Fahiatua yards, on Tuesday, when a'loufc 400 heart of cattle* were penned. There was a large attendance of buyers from Palmei'stou, Wairarapa, and all parts of the district. Bidding was not spirited, but a large number of sales were effected privately. Sheep wore only represented by a line of 200 hoggets, j which sold at lis 8t!, and fat BDd forward ewes at 16s 6d. In cattle, there was a good inquiry for wellgrown sorts, but younger and poor * conditioned steers were Degiected. Forward bullocks fold from 113s to • 117s, ciher 3yr steers 67s 6d to 75b, 18 months and 2yr empty heifers 40s, springing heifers 67a <sd to 102s Grl, fat and forward cows 85s, weauers 16s to 27s 6d, store cowe frppi 255.
