AUSTRAL LASSES' BAND.
Referring to the Austral Lasses' Band the Tiniaru Post says:—The Timaru public showed their keen interest iu this uuique organisation by atteniiuß the Army's musiflnl meetings yesterday in overwhelming nnmbers. At the evening service at the Theatre Royal, although the appointed time of starting was 7.30, the building was more than comfortably filled before.seven. At 7.30 every inch of standing room was being utilised, and a couple of hundred people bad to be accommodated at the rear of tho stage. The programme for the evening consisted of instrumental items bv the Lasses' Band, part songs by the Band'a singing company, and vooal solos by individual members of the Baud. In their instrumental itemo, which included n florid march with plenty of fanfare, a tasteful arrangement of favourite hymn l |»nnd mission song tunps, the Band evidence of careful training and much musical aptitude. This popular BandJ will appear in the Town Hall on Wednesday, October 3rd for one night only. The box plan is open at Messrs MoLeod and Young's, where seats can be booked.
