MISS TITTELL BRUNE.

Mr Paul Hester, the dramatist .responsible jfor "Sweet Neil of Old Drury," has, it is said, surpassed hia previous achievements in ratting a stage version of "Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall," which will be produced for the first time la Masterton on Thursday next, by Misa Tittell Bruue, ana Mr J. 0. Williamson's Dramatic Company. Mr Kester has had odd material to work on in dramatising Mr Charles' Major's novel. Not only is the heroine herself an admirable oharaoter study, but the Elizabethan surroundings supply abundant opportunities for chivalrous situations, picturesque dressing, and that general atmosphere of poetry and romance, which lends a peculiar unarm to Ibis class of drama. Jh her pourtrayal of Dorothy Vernon Miss Tittell Brune is said to have added yet another conspicuous triumph to the lengthening list of her successful roles. Owiag to the brevity of the season and the desire of Mr Williamson to introduce two plays of note, Dorothy Vernon can only be staged for one night. The second production will be 0. M. B. MoLellan's famous drama "Leah Klesohna," of which the London Post ■? says:—"Mr MoLellan has written a play which Kept an experienced London audience spellbound through five acts. Between the acts they clapped and shouted and stamped, or stood about in the oorridors, and told each other bow they were affected fcy this great play." The box plan for the season is now upen at Mr Hollings'.
