THE WOOL MARKET. Received September 21, 9.8 a.m. LONDON, September 20. The Antwerp wool sales have opened. There was a small attendance. Prices were quiet and irregular compared with July. Merinos fell five pev cent , orossbreds ten per cent., and fine crossbreds were barely maintained at July nrices. Over two thousand four hundrod bales of La Plata wool were offered and 886 bales were sold. STJOK SALES. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report;—At Palmerston North, on Thursday, we had a full yarding of cattle aud there was a good demand for all classes with the exception of low-conditioned and backward calving heifers. Sheen came forward; in short supply. F.m. ewes with Jambs at foot made 23s 4d, hoggets 15s 2d. Medium fat bullocks £7 to £7 7s, good fat and forward bullocks £7, 3 and 4year forward bullocks £6 3s, 3-year steers £4 12s to £4 16s, 2-year steers £3, 18 months steers £2 10s to £2 12s, mixed yearlings 24s to 28s, 18 mouths heifers 26s 6d to 27s 6d, weaners 15s, springing heifers £4 to £4 lbs, faL and forward cows £4, store cows 30s to £2 3s.

The New Zealaud Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their fortnightly stock sale at Eketahuna, yesterday, as follows:—Sheep were represented by hoggets only, all selling at sound rates. Jr. cattle we yarded all classes, the bulk of the entries being oalves and yearlings, all this class finding purchasers. In dairy stock we offered several lots of springing heifers, aud although the quality was mostly gooa little business was done, the backwardness of the grass accounting for the faot. Young rigs were in good demand, all selling freely. Down cross hoggets made up to 14s 6d, seoond class up to lis 6d, small calves 14s, dairy weaners and calves up to 22s 6d, springing heifers from 60s, cows from 60s, young pigs 16s.
