<OPAKI v. PALMERSTON NORTH. (Special Reporter). A team from the Opaki Qaoita €lub visited Palmerston North, cu Saturday, and played a raatoh against the looal team. On arrival at Palrnerst-u North the visitors were met, and welcomed by Messrs Lomax (captain), Munro (secretary), Pickering and others. After playing the first round the visitors were en tertained at the Post Office Hotel. The second round was played in the afternoon. The match resulted in a win for Opaki by 88 points. Mr Nicholson, captain of the Opaki team, in a neat speech, thanked the Palmerston North Club for the kind and hoepitable treatment received. Cheers weie then exobanged. The visitors left by the 5.10 o'clock train the members of the local team aocompanyiua thorn to the station. Mr T. Wyeth, President, aciorupauied the Opaki team to Palmerston North. A return match will prooably be j.luyed in about three weeks time. The following are the scores:—
OPAKI v. LANGDALE. (Speoial Reporter). A match between the Opaki and Langdale Chits was played at Taueru, on Saturday, [and resulted in a win for Opaki by 113 Jpoints. The Langdale Club entertained the Opaki Club at lunch at the Taueru Hotel, and afternoon tea after the match. Mr S. Tankersley (secretary and- acting-captain) thanked the Langdale Club on behalf of the Opaki Club for the manner in which they bad been entertained. He noped that a return match would be rlayed at an early date. Mr MoLeay, President of the Langdale Clab, considered that there would be no difficulty in arranging a return match. Mr Paulsen, who ably captained the Lang dale Club, oalled for three cheers for Opaki. After these had been, given the Opaki Club gave three cheers for the Langdale Club.
