MASTERTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Sohool Committee was held last evening. There were present—Messrs R. Brown (chairman), H. O'Leary, J. Carpenter, O. Perry, G. Townsend, W. Gillespie, and T. Duncan. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs E. H. Waddington and W. A. Fendall. The Treasure! reported a credit balance of £147 9s 3d. Accounts amounting to £144 were passed for payment. Mr Reginald Foss wrote thanking the oommittee for arranging with Mr W. H. Jaokson for one of the staff at the Masterton Distriut High School to take temporary charge of his school on the occasion of his recent aooiaent. The Education Board also wrote thanking the Committee in connection with the matter. Mrs L. Bees wrote resigning the position of oaretaker of the Main Sohool. She asked to be allowed to retain tbe charge of the Side School. Mrs Rees fuither stated that she had met with an accident while working in the sohool, and she asked whether she"was entitled to any compensation from the Education Board. It was deoided to forward the letter to the Education Board. It was deoided to recommend Miss E. Williams for the position of secondary assistant at the Masterton District High School. Messrs Fendall, Gillespie, and O'Leary are the visiting members for the month.
