SMALL BIRDS NUISANCE.

AN APPLICATION FOR ASSISTANCE. A letter was received by the Muaterlon Borough Works Committee, last evening, from tho Masterton Fruitgrowers' Association, asking for financial assistance in connection wth the destruotioa of small birda. The Mayor pointed out that there was no amount on tho estimates for expenditure in that direction, add if any money were voted it would have to come out of the overdraft. Be thought that it was a matter for the County Council to deal with. It was deoided to reply to tho Association that the Council regretted that it had not provided any money on the estimates for expenditure iu the direction mentioned,
