DREDGING RETURNS.
REPORTS OP THE DREDGEMASTERS.
The weekly dredging returns are as follow:—Hessey, 9oz 17dwts; Masterton, 50oz9dwl,s. No returns are to hand from Mystery Flat, as repairs are being effected to the machinery of the dredge. Tbe Hessey dredgemaster reports that he did not have such a good run this week owing to trouble with the condenser and bad coal. This helped to keep the week's returns so low. The master does not think that he will get much gold for* a fortnight yet, as the dredge is crossing the old river bed, and there is a lot of silt to shift. Everything is running well at present. The Masterton dredgemaster reports that all is going along well. Hefts opening out to the west boundary which acoounts for the low returns during the last we^k. The Secretary of the Masterton Dredging Company reports that the law suits with the Duke of Gordon Dredging Company have been settlei in favour of the Masterton Company.
