He was relieved from the fate staring him in the face by the fact that another traveller who lost his way stumbled upon Holders. A comparison of notes gave the newcomer some idea as to his bearings, and he set off for help, reaching Air Skeate'a No. 9 Survey Camp, from which a party of six set out at once Holden, who was disocvereC With great difficulty the rescuers carried him on their shoulders for five miles, where n stretcher was requisitioned, and a journey of sixteen miles to k Taumarunui was commenced. This plaoe was reached in time for Holden to be conveyed by yesterday morning's train to the Waikato Hospital, where he was found to be suffering from the effects of starvation. His legs end feet are in a dreadful state, and very sore, owing in part to the doots not having Deen removed for about a fortnight. Mortification is threatening, and it iB extremely doubtful if the limbs can be saved.
