Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours up tc 9. a.m. on Tuesday was 12 points. Mr S. Mawley, Ditton, reports as follows:—Rainfall for August, 1906, 1.91 in. Maximum fall iu 24 hours, ,62in on the 14th. Average foe 26 years for August, 4.99 in. The driest August during tb»s period occurred in the year 189u, when the total amounted to 1.85 in.
