A TRAIN HELD UP. Received Augnst 28, 8.25 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG August 27. Twelve armed men held up a train 60 versfs from Mosoow and stole 5,000 roubles (over £800). The incident oaused much alarm among the passengers, who, however, were not mal-treated. THE BOMB OUTRAGE AT APOTHECARY ISLAND. Received August 28, 7.15 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, August 27. The four perpetrators of the oati rage against M. Stolypin paid £25 beforehand for She hiring of rooms at St. Petersburg. An ex-officer, named Boborykin, desired to warn M. Two women were actively concerned in the crime. Scores of arrests have been made. One of the assassins, who is lying in tbe hosptal grievously wounded is apparently a'student belonging to the Riga University. The explosive foroe of the bomb was terrific, tearing off legs, hands and ears, and completely eviscerating one body and burning the eyes out of another. M. The Moscow correspondent of The Times reports that the proprietors, merchants, and priests, feeling their interest threatened by revolution, are withdrawing from the movement in favour of political freedom, and are taking refuge under the shadow of autocraoy. The Times deolares that each recurrence of terrorise crime draws the line sharper and clearer, dtiving the Moderates towards the Government, and making the position, so far as constitutional reforms are concerned, impossible, thus forcing the Government to mure ruthless coercion. LIFE OF GENERAL KAULBARS AGAIN THREATENED. Received August 28, 9.5 a.m. PARIS, August 27. Frenob papers publish a telegram stating that an Odessa girl made another attenrpc to assassinate General Kaulbars. The bomb exploded prematurely. DISCOVERY OF BOMBS. Received August 28, 10.50 p.m. ST. PETERSBURG, August 28. Twenty-four bombs and eight dynamite cartridges have been discovered at Riga. It is reported at St. Petersburg that twenty-one of the crew of the battleship Panteleimon seized a cutter and landed at Berinzan Island, where they planted a red flag over the spot where Lieut. Schmidt was executed. Revolutionary meetings have again been held aboard the Black Sea fleet. The Warsaw social democrats advise the workmen to refuse to pay rent and answer the attempts to enforce payment by terrorism.
