CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES.
SETTLING "OUTSTANDING GRIEVANCES. CANADIAN INTERESTS DISREGARDED. Received August 26, 4.47 p.m. OTTAWA, August 25. The Canadian newspapers complain of the Homo Government seekiug to settle outstanding grievances at Washington regardless of Canadian interests. Such a policy, they contend, is disloyal to Canada. Au emergency meeting of the Canadiau Cabinet will be held next week to consider England's pressure to settle disputes. The Hon. W. Mortimer Clark, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, states that recently he visited England, and was impressed with the inexcusable ignorance and apathy shown regarding Canadian affairs.
