GENERAL GOMEZ ARRESTED.
Received August£23 8.50 a.m. HAVANA, August 22. Six hundred and ten arrest" have been made at Havana. General Gomez was arrested at his country seat. The troops repulsed several bands of rebels with slight losses.

IMPORTANT POSITION CAPTURED.
Received August 24, 12.1 a.m. HAVANA, August 23. The Uufcan insurgents, under Senor Guerra, an ex-OongresHijißn, after a sharp fight, captured the town of San Luis, giving them an important base for future operations. A number of the combatants were killed and wounded.
REBELLION SPREADING
Received August 24, 12.10 a.m. HAVANA, August 23. Senor Perez, late Governor of Pinar del Rio, has joined the insurgents. Bands of insnrgents are at Santa Olara under Colonel Reinus and Senur Mandieta, an ex-Congress-man. Another band is at Santa Oruz del Norte. The inhabitants of Aguaoate have also risen.
