MASTERTON TROTTING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the members of the Masterton Trotting Club wag held laat evening. Mr A. Snodgrasa oooupied the chair and there were about fourteeu members present. An apology for absence was received from Mr W. D. Wataon. Messrs F. Hill and W. Eagle wrote resigning as members of the Club. The resignation of Mr Eagle was aocepted, and it was deoided to elect Mr Hill an honorary life member of the Club. The annual balanoe-sheet showed that the reoeipts had been £405 lis lld(nominations £69155, acceptances £53 10s, totalisator £159 2s sd, members' subscriptions £32, gates £22 2s, tines £lB, grandstand £7 15s)*; expenditure, £352 14s 7d (dr. balance from last year £34 Is 9d, stakes £195, handicaoper £5 ss, starter £5 10a, seoretary £2O, printing and advertising £2O 2s, protest fees to New Zealand Trotting Association £ls, postages £6 7s); leaving a or. balance of £lß' 15s 76. The balance-sheet was adopted. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow:—President, Mr W. D. Watson; Vice-Presidents, Messrs C. B. Smith, ,IHill and J. O'Meara; Time-keeper, Mr 1/. Hill; Juage, Mr C. H. Smith; Handicapper, Mr J. H. Pollock; Clerk of Course, Mr H. Welch, Clerk of Scales, Mr A. Auditor, Mr-a. Hathaway; Starter, Mr A., Cometti; Stewards, Messrs F. Buick, W. H. Buick, W. Cooper, W. Cragg, J. Cress, J. Dixon, F. E. Dorsett, R. ,J. Hodgine, W. lorns, T; W. Miller, D. MoNair, J. O'Neill, C. A. Pownall, A. Snodgraes, H. Welch, tV. Whittaker, G. Yates, C. A. Tabatean, W. Mori is, W. J. Fly; Ground Committee, Messrs F. Buick, T. W. Miller, J. Oresa, A. Snodgrnss, W. Cragg, W. Whittaker, J. O'Neill, W. Cooper, G. H. Yatee, J. Dixon, J. O'Meara, D. MoNair, W. Morris, vV. Fly. The programme for this year's meeting was drawn up. With the exception of one race it is the same as laat year's programme. The pony race was deleted, and a trial trut (one mile), of the value of "20 sovs, for horses that have never won a race exceeding the value of 25 sovs, was substituted. It was deoided to hold the trotting meeting this year on November 15th. Mr T. Duncan intimated that he would resign the position of Seoretary early in November. It was deoided to" itvite applications for the position of Seoretp.ry; and the applications to close on October Gtb.
