The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report aa follows:-—At the ordinary sale in the Waipona yards, on Wednesday, the yarding of both sheep •and oattle was small, several entries not coming to hand owing to the rough weather. Id sheep , with the exception of one small line of ewes, •everything was quitted at prices that met with owners' approval. Good •quality was represented in toe oattle penned, but several lines failed to reach vendors' reserves. Hoggets brought from 13s 6d to 15s 66, ewes lis io 16s 9d, cows £1 2s 6d, steers £5 ss. A clearing sale of Mr Arthur Johnstone's dairy herd was held, yesterday, .at Mangaraahoe, and despite i the poor attendance a good clearance • was effected at batisfaotory figures. A few only of the highest grade cows, however, failed to realise the vendors' idea of valne. Range of prices—cows £2 Ids to £i 14s, steers ■£& 2s, sow £4.
