THE NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION.

(From Our London Correspondent). LONDON, June 27. This Association has been formed for the purpose of providing a rendezvous in London for New ZeaJanders visitiug or residing here. Two good-sized rooms have been secured at the Westminster Palace Hotel Buildings, No. 8, Victoria Street, and famished as club rooms, in which ;toa and refreshments are served and facilities provided for writing letters ur reading the New Zealand newspapers. Membership is open to anyone interestad in New Zealand either sooially or in a business way, subject to his election by the Committee, after being formally proposed and seoonded. It has started with a membership of about 150, but it is hoped this will ce oon siderably increased when the Association gets into working order. Most of the leading business firms connected with the New Zealand trade have joined. The following gentlemen have been elected its officers:—President, the Hon. W. Pember Reeves; Vioe-Pre-sidents, Mr Walter Kennaway, 0.M.G., Sir E. Montague Nelson, K.'J.M.G., the Hon. Richard Oliver, Sir Lambert B. Ormsby, Kt., M.D., F.K.C.S., and Professor E. Rutherford, F.K.S,; Oommittee of Management, Messrs H. Baird A. &. Cook, S. H. Godsall, R. H. Hooper, 0. W. Palliser, W. 0. Robieson, J. S. Ross, E. T. Sayers, W. E. Sorrell, W. 0. Stewart, and Dr. T. W. Parkinson; Cba'rman, Mr G. P. Spooner; House Committee, Messrs H. Baird, 0. W. Palliser, W. 0. Robison, E. T. Sayers, W. C. Stewart and Dr, T. W. Parkinson; Chairman, Mr G. P. Spooner; Hon. Treasurer, Mr 0. W. Palliser; Hon, Auditor, Mr G. P. Spooner; Joint Hon. Secretaries, Messrs R. H. Hooper and J. P. Wbitelaw. An inaugural reception is to be held on Tuesday, July 3rd, at the Westminster Palace Hotel. < Many New Zealanders now in London are expected. Musioal items will be contributed by Miss Nora Long, Chieftain Rangihuia, Mr and Mrs Campbell, and Messrs Alrnnold and Garnet Tiavell. )
