There was a hard frost but a fine morning at Riooartou. Ohryseis and Signalman opened proceedings, and there was nothing to choose between them at the end of a mile, run,in lmin 51seo. Bulawayo went twice round at half speed. Eurus was fully extended for a m'.le, run in lmin 56 3-sseo. It was not a pleasing exhibition. Phaetonitis finished stroncly at the end of a mile and a half, run in 3min 1 2 ssen. Slow Tom covered a mile, the last seven furlongs occupying lmin 38aeo. Sol beat Cuiragnoby three lengthj, with Irish ten lengths away at the end of a mile and a half, run in 2min 54 2-ssen. Shrapnel defeated Cavalry and Waikato over a mile, which was traversed in lmin 50 4-sseo. Tirole beat Rongo over a mile and a qaarter. Makaroff ran seven furlongs comfortably in lmin 35sec. Swimmer was too good for Renana at the end of a mile and a quarter, run in 2min 20seo a oreditable performance. Kremlin covered the last mile of a mile and a quarter in lmin 52seo finishing strongly. Nadador jumped the post and rails and double, and then appeared to have Kaitere beaten at the end of once round in 2min 56 1 sseo. Pipi went a mile and a half, the last mile tatting lmin 59sec.
