MessrH Levin and Company limi- ' ted-report :-We offered on Friday ■'so bales of wool, 3 ; 500 skins, 300 aides and a quantity of Tallow and Horsenair. The advice from London by cable of a fall of a penny per lb at the sheepskin sale which opened yesterday had a depressing effect upon the sale, and for the first time for many months the sale received a set-baoU. We quote:—Ox bides to 5%d por lb;cow hides to 5Md; out and slippy hides 4d to sd; oalfskinssd to s}£d. . IJS .. The next sale will be held on the 17th August, 1906. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows.:— At our sale on Friday we offered the usual quantity of wool, sheepskins, bideM and tallow ' There was a good attendance of buyers, but in face of'cablegram, received from London >poiting a drop of ifrom %d to Id per lb. in sheep fekins in the sales which opened Shere yesterday we had -to acuept a corresponding drop here both in woolaud sheepskins. We quoteCrossbred stragglers from B}£d to 9%d; good clean cratcblngs from 7d to 8d; seedy and heavy 5d to looks and pieces 3>£d to ,6d. Sheapskins—Ulean and light conditioned from 9d to 9%d; coarse crossbred to 9d; lamb skins 8d to 9%6', broken and inferior £%& to 7d; dead skins 7d to 7>£d; green skins | from Cs to 8s 6d, occasionally to 10s. Tallow in tins from 14s 6d to 18s, rough fat to 13a. Hides—There is no quotable change in prioes to report; good sorts are in good demand.

Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual sale of wool, skins, hides, and tallow on Friday afternoon. There was a large attendance of buyers, bat there was nu animation in the bidding, the sale dragging right through. i « ~, * Wool showed a decline of %d to all round. Skins were hard to quit and were lower by fully one penny per lb, in symcathy with London shlob, while green and salted skins dropped to the extent of Is G.I to 2s each. Hides also declined in value to the extent of Jfjd tu %& per lb. We quote-Wool: Fine crossbred, 10 l 4d; crossbred, crutchings, medium, '6% d to 7d; inferior, pieces, to sJid; dead, Skins—Mediumoroßßbred, B%d to 9d; inferior orossbred, 7%dto B}£d: lambs 7%d to 8%: orossbred shorts, pelts, 6d to 6%d; hoggets, 6&d to green, good 7s to7s7d; salted 8s 6d to 8s 6d. Hides—Ox, heavy, to 5%d; Jight, cow, heavy, to 5%d; light, 5d to sy>d; calf, to 5%d; yearlings, 4d to 4%d. Tallow in caßkß, 22s 9d per owt.
