' The barque Dilpussand arrived after a passage of*'"~64 days frnm Kaipara. She experienced gales almost the whole time. Some of tbe deck cargo was washed overboard. Two men were also washed over the rail, but were rescued by lines boing thrown to them. BLOWN OUT TO SPA. Received July 23, 10.2 a.m. MELBOURNE, July 23. Captain Carlson, of the schooner Enterprise, with two men, attempted to land at Flinders, but the wind was too stong. gThey attempted to regain the vessel, but were blown out to sea. Search steamers are now out looking for the men. FALL OF SNOW.' Received July 24, 12.54 a,m. SYDNEY, July 23. Snow fell for 15 minutes within 20 miles of Sydney. » QUEExNSLAND PARLIAMENT. The Governor's Speech will announce the raising of the limit of exemptions under, the Income Tax and a more general reduction in. the burden of taxation. _ The Government will seek power to open new districts by the construction of railways on a, principal which, will not add to tbe burden of the tax' payer. A Bill is promised to promote closer settlement. A referendum is to be taken on the question of religious instruction in sahools. The Speech congratulates tbe State on the splendid prospects.
