OBITUARY.
MRS REBECCA DOUGHTY. Mrs R. Doughty, an old and respected resident of Masterton, died very suddenly at her residence, Dixon Street, last evening. She was having her tea at about 5.40 p.m., when without any warning she collapsed. When picked up she was unconscious and died two hours later, not having regained consciousness. Death was. due to the breaking of a blood vessel in the brain. Tho deceased was up to the time of her sudden demise enjoying excellent health. She only returned from a fortnight's holiday at Pahiataa on Tuesday, and yesterday afternoon she was out for a long walk. The deceased, who was 73 years of age, was born in Lincolnshire (England), and came to the colony about 30 years ugo. She lauded in and proooedsd direct to the Masterton district, where she has resided ever since. The deceased waa a relict of the late Mr John Doughty, a wellknown dairy farmer of the Masterton distriot, who died about five years ago. Two sons, Messrs Arthur aud Herbert Doughty, and two daughters, Mrs D. Jackson and Mrs C. A. Smith, are left to mourn their loss. The funeral will leave her late residence at 2.30 p.m., to-morrow.
