MASTERTON—FRIDAY. (Before Mr W. P. James, S.M.) Judgment Summons.—Ogilvy and Sons (Mr D. K. Logan) v. William Dixou (Mr C. A. Pownall), olaim £l2 la. Mr Pownall explained that the debtor was only earning 30s per week, and had to keep a wife and four children. No order was made, as Mr Logan did not press for an order under the circumstances. Straying Pigs. Ole John F. Petersen was charged by the Maurioeville County Council with having allowed ten pigs to stray on the Managmahoo Road. Defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined 10s with £2 15a costs. Dr Trimble appeared for tho County Council, and Mr O. A. Pownall for the defendant. A Horse Case.—Joseph J. Jackson, of Martinborough, sought to recover from Messrs Pinhey Bvos., of Masterton, the return of a horse or £2O value of the same. The horse, which whs alleged to have been purchased by one Frank Reeve from defendants, had been obtained by plaintiff from Reeve by exchange. The horse was afterwards recovered from plaintiff by Constable Sherry. After hearing evidence, the Magistrate nonsuited tbe plaintiff, with costs i£3 2a. Mr B. J. Dolan appeared for I the plaintiff, and Mr P. L. Hollings I for the defendants.
