Received July 4, 8.40 a.m. LONDON, July 3: At the enquiry beld regarding alleged extravagance at the Poplar workhouse it was shown that paupers frotn the farm colony at Laindon were allowed three meat meals daily, and much more expensive tea than the House of Commons uses. They were also given a weekend trip toJLondon with their fares paid, and pocket money, which they were allowed to spend in hotels.
