NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES.
The nomination of oandiriatea for the first general election (under the ward system) of members of the Wellington Education Board closed on Monday oveuing. The following havo oetm nominated (the names bearing an asterisk being those of sitting members of the Board): — Wellington City Ward. * Willi am Allan. • William Albert Evans. ♦Robert Lee (late chairman). James Wishart. Manawatu and Hutt Ward. ♦William Hughes Field, M.H.R. ♦John Kebbell, Ohau. ♦Thomas W. McDonald, Hutt. Wairarapa Wsrd. Abraham Barrel!, Maneatainoka. ♦Walter Clark Buchanan, Gladstone. ♦Edwin Feist, Masterton. ♦Alex. Wilson Hoag, M.H.R., Masterton. ^ n \\ A'- £. John Thomas Marryat tlornsby, Carterton. James MoCaw, Martinborough. Nisbet Moßobie, Pabiatua. Alexander Reese, Pabiatua. ♦Arthur Henry Vile, Eketahuna. Three members are required for each ward. As only the number of members for the Manawatu ward have been nominated, Messrs W. H. Field, John Kebbell, and T. W. McDonald have been re-eleotei without opposition. The election will take place on Monday, the 23rd inet.
