Router's Durban correspondent reports that on Monday morning a small irapi attacked Colonel Barker's rearguard a mile outside Noodsberg. J They were repulsed, but returned < two hours later. * One thousand five hundred na s tives attaoked the vanguard. * A small British forne maintained t a steady fire, although the Zulus J advanoed within five yards of the 1 force, almost overwhelming it. I The timely arrival of the main l British foroe averted a disaster by flinging the impi back with heavy I loss. ( Three squadrons are pursuing the ' rebels. * One Britisher was killed, and .two wounded. The Zulus retired iu a northeasterly direction after six hundred had been killed. DEPORTATION OP PRISONERS.
