The Cabinet has made an offer of £2OO for the elaborately oarved pataka, or Maori foodhonse, whioh was deposited in the Auckland Maseam many years ago by the late Judge Fenton. The house was oarved in 1825, and is said to be one of the most perfect examples of Maori art in existence. It belongs to an Auokland resident who is 9uid to be disinclined to allow it to 3ome away from Auokland. It is understood that the Government proposes to place it in the Colonial Museum. RHEUMATIC GOUT CURED, Mr Falk Cohen, clothier, of Willis- street, Wellington, is a well-known Wellington 3ity Councillor and business man and lis testimony will carry weight. Mr Cohen luffered from rheumatic gout, but Rheumo luiokly cured him. He writes:—"Last Friday I experienced a very bad attaok of heumatic gout—in fact, so bad that I had obe assisted to a cab.
