&USI RALIAN ITEMS. COLLISION IN SYDNEY HARBOUR. RESULT OF AN INQUIRY. ' CLAIM AND COUNTER CLAIM. By Telegraph—Press Association. Received June 20, 9.30 a.m. SYDNEY, June 20. • The enquiry has concluded into the collision on May 31st between the North Coast Steam Navigation Company : s ateamerjEleotra, 395 tons Captain Beach, and the tug Energy, at North Bead, when the tug was sunk and the Eleotra considerably damaged. The finding of the Court is that the lights ou the Energy were not burning brightly enough, and that the deckhand in charge of the Energy failed to see the Electra, owing probably to being asleep at his post, the result of being on duty an unreasonably long time. The captains uf both the Electra and Energy are exonerated from blame. The Court is strongly of opinion that tugs should cariy at least one certificated officer, iu addition to the master. The owners of the Energy are claiming £3,000 for the loss of the tag, while the owners of the steamer Eleotra counter claim for £750 for damage to the steamer.
