;FIKE ON VESSELS. THE SHEEP DIP THEORY. Received June 19, 10.13 a.m. SYDNEY, June 19, The opinion of the local wool experts is opposed to the. London suggestion that the fires among the wool oargoeu were the result of sheep dips. It is pointed oat that sheep are dipped immediately after they are shorn, sj that even if the dips contained ingredients of a combustible nature they would be evaporated before the next shearing. It is hinted that the suggestion in regard to dips may have emanated from some interested quarter. The more general opinion favours the theory that the fires were oaused by dampness on the wool.
