TINNED FOOD REVELATIONS. Received Maj 31, 8.52 a.m. NEW YORK, May 30. America is appalled at the revelations of the methods of the Chicago meat packers. The Beef Trust is panic stricken. British, German and Japanese orders for tinned meats are decreasing. Mr Upton Sinclair, whose book "The Jungle," led President Roosevelt to send commissioners to make further investigations, declares that two men fell into the lard-render-ing vatsaud were converted and sold as lard. lie further alleges that unborn calves were largely utilised for potted meats and decomposed ohickens frozen and deodorised and tinned.

Mr Sinclair challenges an aotion for libel.
