MASTBKTON STOCK SAL2S. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held their fortnightly sale at the Masterton yards yesterday (Wednesday). The weathec was deoidedly unpropitious, and only a small yarding oame forward. There was only a moderate attendance of buyers, and as the stock appeared to disadvanage, bidding was dull and very little business was done. Two lines of lambs, totalling over 2,000, whioh were prevented from coming in, wero sold privately to a Wanganui olient from 9s 4d to 106 6d. At the yards fat ewes sold from 14s 5d to 14s 7d, good shorn lambs lis 7d, empty ewes from 10s, fat cows from 67s 6d, weaners 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:-—Ac our Masterton fortnightly stock sale yesterday the entries in both sheep and cattle were somewhat short, owing to the rough state of the weather. However, we had a very fair yarding, the class being generally good, and all lines with two
exceptions ohauged bands; in cattle we made a olearanoe, Fat ewes, prime 15s 4d, others 14s 6d, forward ewes lis 2d to 13s 6d, best breeding ewes 13s, others 10a to lis, culls 3a 6d to 7s 6d, 2-tooth wetnors 14s to 15s Id, lambs, i best lis 6d, others 10a 6d, 18-rnouth steers 31s to 455, yeailings 30s, heifers in oalf 475, store cows and heifers 29s to 31s.
