There are less dealings in cargoes; 31s 6d is a«ked for Australian afloat; there is sale for spot wheat at 30s to 31s 6d. New Zealand is quoted at 30s 6d to 30s 30d. / Butter is somewhat steadier. Choicest New Zealand reaches 99e to 101s. Australian 96s to 98s. Danish 104s to 105s. Cheese is quiet. New Zealand, white 60s; coloured, 65s per cwt. Sheep: North Island, 3%d; best brands, 3%d. Other sorts unchanged. Lambs: Canterbury, light, 4 11-16 d, medium 4%d, heavy 4%d; North Island 4%d. New Zealand beef, 180 to 2201b5, fair average quality, ox fores 27-16 d. ox hinds 3 1-lGd. River Plate sheep and beef unchanged. WOOL MARKET. Received May 21, 8,14 a.m. LONDON, May 20. Wool is very firm and prices are well maintained; to date 132,215 bales have been catalogued and 126,981 have been sold. The fleece portion of Mateonga clip realised 12}4<J, and Scott lid. THE TIN MARKET. Received May 21, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, May 19. The fall in tin is regarded as a natural reaction from a too rapid hdvance. . It is hoped that the fall will tend to check wild gambling in the metal. To-day's prices are:— Spot, <£l93; three months, £IBB.
