REPATRIATION OF CHINESE.

LONDON, May 19. Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, yesterday, received a deputation consisting of Major J. Seel 7, Messrs F. C. Mackarness, R. C. Lehmann, T. W. Russell, and J. H. Dalziel, M's.P., regarding Chinese on the Rand. The proceedings were in private, but it is understood that the deputation urged the forcible repatriation of the Chinese in batches, since the proclamation regarding repatriation had been without result. The Daily Chronicle says:—A policy of "clean sweep" is impossible. It would create an economic crisis and inflict a grave injury on the innocent. It would be better to await tbe new Government's decision, which will probably decide for repatriation.
