PANAMA CANAL.
Kceeivea May 18, 11.20 p.m. NEW YORK, May 18. The San Franoisoo earthquake •will be a factor in the recommendation of the Panama sea level candl. A majority of tho Senate Committee considered that an earthquake or an enemy's explosives in war time might seriously damage the looks. A sea level canal would be a more serviceable passage in time of war for ships. The .extra cost would be sixty million .dollars.
