MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

FINANCE COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Finance Committee was held oa Saturday morning. There were present—Messrs J. D. Oruiokshank (ohairman), G. 0. Summerell, E. E. Chamberlain and 15. Gray. Mr F. W. Ellis, Feilding, wrote drawing attention to the fact that he bad been charged for four entries made by him at the recent Show, and was only allowed to compete in one class. He asked for a refund of the portion of the entry fee amounting to 10s. It was decided to refund the amount asked for. Thw Hoc Secretary of the Wairarapa Rugby Union wrote asking for a refund of £1 for the rent of the Association's grounds in each of the matches Wairarapa v. Tnranaki and Wairaraoa v. Mauawatn, flayed last season, also, intimating that the Union had decided to use tho Showgrounds during tho coming season instead of the Park at a fee of £1 per matoh. On the motion of Mr Summerell, it was decided that the Committee could not accede to the request.

The manager of the National Fire and Marine Insurance Company wrote statiug that owing to the action of tho Government against the insuranoe companies no margin of profit was left to the companies, and the National Company was unable to make the oustomarj donation tr» the funds of the Association. The Secretary was instructed to forward the original donation list on whioh the Company's stamp and manager's initials appear. It was decided to meet on June 7tb, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of revising the defaulters' list. The financial position of the Association was submitted as follows: Dt Dalanco at last meeting, £452 ls9d; expenditure for the month, £6l 2s sd; receipts for the month, £ll3 13s; dr balance at date, £399 lis 2d, less cheques outstanding £23 2a 6d, £376 8s Bd. Accounts amounting to £lO6 12s 7d were recommended for payment.

x GROUND COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Ground Committee was held on Saturday morning. There were present—Messrs D. J, Cameron, fohairman), J. C. Cooper, W. D. Watson, W. Cooper and T. P. Lett. On the motion of Mr Lett, seconded by Mr Oboper, the final payment of £33 to Messrs Coradine and Whittaker on the new grandstand was recommended for payment. It was deoided to meet on the grounds on Saturday, June 2nd, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of making suggestions for necessary improvements to the grounds. GENERAL COMMITTEE. The ordinary meeting of the General Committee was held on Saturday afternoon. There were present—Messrs R. Gray (chairman), J. P. Perry, J. McGregor, W. Cooper, F. 0. Lewis, J. Stuokey, T. P. Lett, D. McGregor, jnr., B. Rayner, W. Perry, W. J. Welob, J. Strang, R. J. Dagg, D. Guild, J. Macrae and E. E. Chamberlain, Apologies for absence were received from Messrs W. MoKenze, W. Watson and R. Johnstone. Mr J. Stuokey wrote suggesting that as there appeared to-be considerable delay in tabling the exhibits in the produce shed at the recent Show, in future the stewards be other than exhibitor's. Complaints were also beard that persons at the back of the new grandstand could not see tha events in the ring. It was deoided to leave the matter in the hands of the Ground Committee. The Secretary of the Manawatu

and West Const A. and P. Associ- ' ation wrote stating that the question of allowing or prohibiting the trimming of sheep for the Manawata Association's sprang show was continually oropping -up at the Committee meetings, and with the object of assimilating the regulations of all A. and P. Associations, he asked the views of the Committee on the matter, and what course it would suggest in trying to get all Associations to adopt the same regalations. Mr Perry moved that the Association is of opinion that they cannot frame regulations dealing effectively with the tampering of sheep, but an instruction be given to the judge that he must disqualify where tampering is detected. After hearing the resolution of the Christohurch A. and P. Association, Mr Perry alterei his motiou to read "that the giving of a prize to a sheep shall imply that the judges are satisfied that such sheep is fairly shorn or fairly trimmed." Mr M,cKae seconded the motion, which was carried. Tne Canterbury A. and P. Association notified that the dates fixed for their Show were November 6th, 7th, Bth and 9th. * Miss Jessie Caropell wrote thanking the Association for their kindness'to her at the recent Show. She also spoke in high terms of the hospitality shown to her by the Committee. On the motion of Mr J. Stuckey it was decided that during the months of May, June, July, August and September, the Committee rneot at 1 p.m. The resignations of Messrs C. Morgan, G. Tully, and U k Judd •were accepted. v The following new members were elected: Messrs Bouatead, T. Saunders, E. Pa«e, T. Moss and J. Birch.
