ALLEGED BOER PLOT.
Received May 9, 9.23 a.m. LONDON, May 8. Portuguese newspapers assert that a Boer plot to seize Mossamedes and establish a republic has been discovered. (Mossamedes is a seaport in Portuguese West Africa. It was founded in 1840, the site being selected on account of the excellence of the harbour, the best on the coast after that of Loanda, and the salubrity of the climate).
