Beef—New Zealand forequarters 2 All other meats unchanged. WOOL MARKET. i Received May 7, 8.23 a.m. LONDON, May 6. The Antwerp wool sales have closed. There was inoreased competition, especially for fine orossbreds, whioh showed 20 centimes advance on March sales. Seven thousand and twenty bales of La Plata were offered, and 4,724 were sold. Six hundred and seventy-seven bales of Australian were also offered, of whioh number 244 were sold. HOMEBU3H SALES. Received May 7, 10.43 p.m. SYDNEY. May 7. At the Homebush sales cattle advanced 10s to 15s per bead. Bullooks sold up to £l3 12s 6d, cows £9 18s. A line of Queensland bullocks averaged £lO 19s. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated London, May sth: There is little change to report in New Zealand mutton. Stocks are increasing and sale is dull. The average price for Canterbury mutton, to-day, is per lb; North Island brands. 3%d per lb; Australian, and River Plate, 3%d per lb. The average prioe of Canterbury brand Jamb is 4%d; other than Canterbury, 4%d per lb. There are large sales at 3%d for best quality only. Ordinary qualities selling at per lb. The beef market is dull. Stooks of New Zealand beef on hand are light. The average prioe for hindquarters ie 3%d, and forequarters 2%d per lb.
