[MEETING OP STEWARDS., The monthly meeting ol' the Stew» ards of the Mastertpn Kaoing Olub was held on Saturday; afternoon. Mr . 0. F. Vallanoe presided, and there were also present Messrs C. A. Pownall, W. D. Watson, W. Cooper, L). MoLaohlan, C. H. Smith,* J. Cress, JR. Buick, A. J. Welch, J, - ! Macara, D. Caselberg, W. iorns, J. lorns, W. i'latt and A. G. Pilmer. •• ■ ■ In connection with the complaint lodged by the jockey, W. Young,' that the trainer of Iroce (W. Traak) had aooused him of "pulling" the horse in a race at the recent Opaki meeting, a letter was . - received from Trask stating that he , (Trask) did not make siicb an accusationi He only expressed dissatisfaction at the manner in whiob Y'odng bad handled the borse at the starting post. On the motion of Mr Pownall, the Stewards; decided that ■ the oase was not one, whioh called for an enquiry, a. Kebay wrote applying for a rebate of the sum of £8 5s wfaioh be had paid for the outside luncheon booth at tbe recent meeting, claiming that he had lost rnoney through the lawn gate being closed. The public,from the lawn were thus unable to go into the outside enclosure. It was decided to make a rebate of £2 ss. 1 The Ground Committee was author- ; isad to carry out the necessary ploughing and re sowing in grass of the old plough track at the Opaki course. On the motion of Mr Pilmer, seooouded by Mr Pownall, a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr J. H. Pollock, the clah'a bandicapp«r, fot his capable -handicapping for the club, and.it was derided, thatat some future date the club would/ recognise bis services in a more substantial ■ !< It was deoided to make the folv lowing suggestions to be considered at the forthcoming JRacing Confer* enoe:—(1) That the time allowed for entering protests and paying out totalisator tickets be* reduced from fifteen minutes to ten mjnutes. (2) That the definition of a back be altered to' read Vthe .winner of a raoe of the value of 100 sovs or races of the collective value of 300 sovs."' (3) Tbat a horse on which fees a're due to one club be debarred from running at another club's meeting though the default is not registered in the official list. (4) That all fees) for gentlemen riders' certificates , be,handed to the individual cluba through which t!se applications are made. It was decided to apply for the following dates for next year's meet-, ings:—Spring .Meeting, October 25th > and 26th, 1906; Autumn Meeting, March 21si and 22nd 1907, Regarding W. Gaibiaith's riding of the horse Tilson at the recent Opaki meeting and the censure v DBSsed on him by th£ Stewards, Mr Smith mentioned that, judging by the horse's running at Tauhere'nikau, the rider bad done his beat, at Opaki. While being anxious to suppress malpractice, he (Mr Smith)* wished to see justice done, and suggested that the reference to Galbraith's censure be expunged from the minutes. This oourse was agreed to.
