GISBORNE WATERWORKS.
OISBORNE, May 1. The competition for the Gisborne waterworks oontraot was exceedingly keen, there being nineteen tenders from varirus parts of the colony. The successful contractors are Smithies and Co., of Wanganui, £38,370, for the main pipe line, and J. A! Moody, of Auokland, £21,738, for reticulation. The work is to be completed within twelvemonths.
