SIR T. LIPTON'S ADVENTURE.
EXCITING MOTOR CAR INCIDENT IN FRANCE, A carious experience which happened to Sir Thomas Lipton at Oaatelsarrasin. in the Department of the Tarn et Uaronues, a'* tew weeks ago. is recorded by "Reynolds's Newspaper." 1c appears that as Sir Thomas's motor car was entering the principal street it was run into by a dogcart drawn by a restive horse, with the result that the occupant*, of the dogcart were thrown out. There was a hue and cry, and gendarmes who appeared on the scene seized the car abd escorted {Sir "Thomas and his companions to the •police station. Sir Thomas was detailed for over £wb houi'S while a charge was formulated, and waa interrogated by the Prefect. In the end, however, Sir Thomas propitiated the prosecutor, one of the occupants of the dogcart, with a preeeot of money, and the matter was amicably settled.
In an interview with a representative of "Reynolds's Newspaper," Sir Thomas cod firmed the story, but said it was nothing but an interesting incident in his trip, and that h e was treated, on the whole, very ooarteonsly. The most curious part of the business was that the crowd, which was at first very hostile, was very enthusiastic after his release, and shouted "Vive l'Entente Cordiale?!" with great gusto.
