It was for the Council to decide whether they thought it was worth the money or not. The Council would have to take immediate steps, as there was only four days left in whiob to secure the space. He did not quite agree with sending out a suhsuription list, aa the Counoil were holding the ratepayers' money, and the ratepayers would really be contributing. , Or Elliott thought that before any money was voted, the Counoil should know' what exhibits were likely to be forthcoming from the district.
