A PRISON SCANDAL.
A grave prison scandal bas, according to the "Seaolo," been brought to light at Padua. Two prison warders, by means of forged letters, purporting to come from a prisoner, succeeded in swindling a wealthy relative of the latter out of considerable sums of money which were supposed to be used for the convict's benefit. The fraud was discovered in a peculiar manner. The writer of the letters turned x out to be another prisoner named Venturing who, as a reward for his services, was allowed by the warders to go oat twioe or three times a week to see his sweetheart. The girl, however, tiring of her lover, went away to Venioe, and thither Venturini followed her. His failure to return was at once discovered, and with his re-arrest the swindling
operations of the two warders came to light. Thay are now expiating their misdeeds in the same prison.
