Mr .Barton wrote regarding tbe road at Caatlepoint.—lt waj decided to ask Mr Barton to add the alteration iu the line agreed to from the site of the old boardinghouse at Oastlepoint to tbe landing Service shed to tho plan of the Wbakataki - Caatlepoint Road, aa required by Mr Johnston, and larward the said plan for signature and approval. The Chief Engineer of Roads wrote ,Btat.ng that he had no fcn- , gincer who could be sent to survey ! the proposed road from Tinui Val- j ley to Pakowai, as they were fully employed, and would be for six months hence. The Wellington Charitable Aid Board forwarded a statement of accounts and balance sheet. The Council's contribution would be £68.95, in four instalments of .£l7 2s 3d each for tbe year ending March 31st, 1907. A letter was received from Mr Pain requesting that the Council have Mr .George Jtl. Inea' .name placed on the roll of ratepayers in the County., as a partner in the Te Mai property. The Stratford County Council sent a copy of a xesulution re .bylaws for public roads, and asked the co-operation of the Council to urge the Government to introduce " a measure into Parliament dealing with unfair traffic on roads. Two of the men who were screening gravel in the Tinui River wrote requesting wages for the they were working the screens on contract.—The Council decided to take no action in the matter. The report of the offlcer in charge of roads was read and considered. Mr Dransfield made a claim for repairs to the Tinui Valley Road, and carting scrub. —lt was agreed to pay for carting scrub, £l, but the charge for wages was. not allowed, being unauthorised. Mr C. A. Cameron applied for payment .of .£lO, being ■ balance \of grant for improvements to Makirikiri expended in repairs, which was agreed to. Accounts amounting to £466 19b 2d were examined, and passed tor payment.
