ACCIDENT TO A JOCKEY
AUCKLAND, April 2. A jockey, named Jenkins, was seriously injured during a hurdle race, at tho Avondole meeting, ou Saturday afternoon. Jenkins was riding Roseplot, aud tho horse etriuing a hurdle heavily, horse and ciune down, the latter's head striking the grouud. He was sent to the hospital iu a semi-coi'scions state. His injuries are regarded as serious.
