The Tailoresses' Union Executive, replying to Mr Tregear, says that all the tailoresses lockod-ont in Dunerlin, were competent weekly wage hands, and all who have boon able to leave here have found immediate employment at tnoro than minimum wages. This bat, the Executive states, shown the injustice of the Dunedin manufacturers in trying to foroe those women to brand themselves as incompotout, and work for much less than the minimum wage. It further expresses regret at the Department of Labour not taking action to give offect to Mr Barclay's suggestion that the Government 'should find employment for the locked out tailoresses, and is of opinion that the establishment of a State clothing factory is urgently required.
