REPORTED DISCOVERY OF GOLD.

ROTORUA, March 21. There is a rumour in town that gold has been discovered on Maori land between 20 and 25 miles from Galatea. A number of men camped close by are waiting permission from Maoris to go on the land. The Native Minister (Hon. J. Carroll) and Mr Kidd have proceeded to Galatea.
