In the McArtnur-Lyne slander case, the jury, after being looked up nine hours, returned a nine to three majority verdict for the defendant. Counsel for the plaintiff aaked to stay proceedings till the next term, on the ground o£ the non-admis-sion of certain evidence. The application was granted.
