MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting' of the General Committee of the Mastertoa A. and P, Association watt held on Saturday afternoon. There were present: —> Messrs F. Gray (in the ohair\ T. P. Lett, J. 0. Oooper, F. 0. Lewis, J. D. Oruickehank, W. Oooper, J. P. Perry, R. Johnstone, W. MoKenzie, J. McGregor, W. D. Watson, B. R. Rayner, R. J. i)agg J. F. Heokler,, J. Moßae, P. Moore and G. 0. Summerell. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs E. E. Chamberlain and J. Stuckey. J. F. Heckler wrote drawing the Association's attention to the fact that in olass 226, "sheep for freezing purposes," at the recent Show, the catalogue stated that the olass was only for sheeD \under 33 months, but sheep were exhibited,, showing dstinotly the six teeth. He suggested that the age limit be struck out, and the exhibits which were awarded first and second prizes be disqualified. Further, in his opinion, purebred stock should not be allowed to oompete in the Farmers' Classes, as was allowed at last Show. The matter was fully disoussed,* and it was decided to plaoe the suggestions mentioned in the suggestion book for consideration by the inuoming Committee. The statement of tne recent Show showed that the receipts had been £2,099 8s 4d, the expenditure £1,994 2s Id, leaving 1 a credit balance of £lO5 6s 3d. E. White, of Palmerston North,' wrote asking for a refund of 30s, paid in cartage for his exhibts to and from the ShowgrounJs. The < request was not granted. The Town Clerk wrote informing the Association that in future they would be held responsible for the due payment of the license fees of travelling side shows, permitted on the Association's grounds. The Ground Committee (Messrs R. Gray, J. 0. Cooper, VV. MoKenzie and B. R. Rayner) recommended that Messrs D. J. Cameron, D. McGregor, jnr., and R. Gray, be appointed a sub oommitteoto deal with the letting of the new portion of the Showgrounds. The report was adopted. The Finance Committee (Messrs J. D. Cruickshank, R Gray ami W. MoKenzie) submitted tbe financial position as follows:-- Or balauoe at last meeting, £lll 15s 4d; receipts for month, £912 5s 9d; expenditure for the month, £297 18s 8d; cheques outstaudng, £l2 17s 8d; ftr balance as per bank book, £739 Oa Id. ' The statement of assets over liabilities for th year's working was submitted at £254 Is Bd. Accounts amounting to £1,497 9s 2d were reoommentied for payment. The report, was adopted. Three resignations were accepted, and three new members elected.
