FLORAL FETE.

A meeting of the Executive Committee appointed in connection with the approaching Floral Fete was held in tho Council Chambers last evening. The Mayor was in the ohair, and there was a large attendance. Arrangements were made for the prizes for tfap floral competitions. The Ground Committee repotted that all arrangements were completed for the positions of the various booths and stalls. The Ladies' Canvassing Committee reported that they had received many promises of large donations. Mr A. W. Hogg, intimated that permission had been given to hold an art union, ana ulso that the Government was supplying a number of tents and marquees free of charge. The Mayor and Mr A. W. Hogg were appointed a committee to interview the larger employers of labour in Masterton with a view to having a half-holiday proclaimed for the employees on Thursday (Floral Fete day) in lieu of Saturday, their usual half-holi-day.
