Rope works are to be established in JFoxton. It is expected that they will be in full woris in May. The Marlborough Land, Board had a difficulty put before them for solution last week. A young woman drew a village lot in a lease-in-peroetuity settlement, and her brother undertook to put up a temporary dwelling , for her. He went to work, found survey pegs, dug a 30 feet well, put UP fences, and altogether put on £4O worth of improvements and then he had been working on the wrong section. The Board said they oould neither, exchange the section (though tho one operated on had not been taken up) nor grant any compensation—not even for the well. BIT OF ALL EIGHT. "While out shooting the other day,' says B. London, merchant, Maldon, (Vic). "I strained the calf of my leg so badly that I was unable to walk, and had to be assisted into my gig, On reaching home I had Chamberlain's Pain Balm rubbed in. It certainly warmed up that part ofj my body, but it did the work, a relief and pleasure all the owou™ w«o gone by the next day, and I was able t walk. ChaSnberlain's Pain Balm is a b'j of all right,' and I now speak from persona 'axperience, as well as a storekeeper who has sold it for years." For sale by T. G» Mason, Masterton.— ■\d\t.
