JAPAN.
THE DEFENCE ESTIMATES. Received February 12, 8.43 a.m. TOKIO, February 11. The Japanese House of Representatives has passed the Budget, the Government's only concession being a reduction of five million yen (about £500,000) in the defence estimates. The House recommended that the Australian line be subdivided into two instead of three years, but the Government opposed, the suggestion.
